Galvanic

Galvanic gold crown: A dental crown whose metal part is produced with the method of electroplating, as a result of which it fits perfectly on the impression and is very thin, so its porcelain veneer can be made thicker than the one on a ceramo-metal crown, thus resulting in better esthetic.

The interpart is moulded from alloys of precious metals suitable for welding; then it is attached to the galvanic anchors by laserwelding and bonding, solderless.Then it is covered perfectly with a porcelain veneer. Electroplated partials, removable dentures.

Electroplating

Illnesses caused by metals are usually ascribed to the process of corrosion. The surface of metals and alloys may be decomposed by their agents (electrolyte). During this process the charge of the electrons and ions changes.

It takes place in isolation, that is without a galvanopartner in cases when either chemical (pH value modification) or mechanical damage is inflicted on the passive protective layer.

During the process of galvanisation an external electric current is applied to the electrlyte containing the ions of the metal to be plated in order to detach metal coating. This method produces 99.8% pure gold, free from additives and composition metals.

The most obvious advantages of dental units prepared with galvanisation are: biocompatibility, precision, cementability, good esthetic result, moderate costs.
